About MyProfile Project

We believe in the users' right to privacy, as well as the right to control their own data. We consider that most of the services currently operating on the Web fail to meet these criteria, and it is for this reason that we decided to provide a solution in the form of MyProfile project. MyProfile builds on existing technologies available for the Semantic Web, like WebID and the Friend of a Friend (FOAF) ontology. A more in-depth description of the project can be found in our manifesto.

The project MyProfile began in 2011 as a PhD research topic into 'privacy and anonymity in computer networks'. After a short period of time we became aware of the advantages resulting from using such a service and therefore we decided to allow everyone to benefit from it as we progressed in our research.
